We offer safe and comfortable sedation dentistry options.

Each year, millions of Americans put off going to the dentist. In fact, up to seventy-five million people in the United States live with some form of dental fear. Whether it’s the sound of the drill, the thought of pain, or memories from a past appointment, many patients avoid the care they need.

Even when warning signs like jaw pain, cavities, or tooth sensitivity show up, fear often keeps people away from treatment.

Now, imagine needing a dental implant, oral surgery, or a complex dental procedure. With sedation dentistry, you can finish your treatment without remembering the sights, sounds, or discomfort you were expecting. You simply wake up with your procedure complete—calm, safe, and pain-free.

At DoctorPerio in Bellevue, we offer several forms of sedation dentistry designed to meet your comfort level and personal needs. Our sedation options include:

  • Nitrous oxide (laughing gas)

  • Oral sedation

  • IV sedation

There is no need to feel nervous about sedation dentistry at our office. Our team is licensed and trained to provide safe sedatives according to the guidelines of the American Dental Association. From the moment you walk in, our caring staff makes sure you feel respected, supported, and comfortable throughout your entire appointment.

Fewer Appointments Needed

Because sedation helps you relax, your dentist can often complete more dental care in one visit. This means fewer trips to the office, shorter recovery times, and more time to enjoy your healthy smile.

Our Sedation Dentistry Options

We cater to all comfort levels at our Bellevue dental office.

Minimal
We offer nitrous oxide inhalation for patients with mild anxiety, longer procedures, or more complex situations. This type of sedation is usually administered orally. During the procedure, you remain awake or very sleepy throughout and you are able to breathe on your own while feeling a great sense of relaxation.

Moderate
For patients with more moderate dental anxiety, conscious sedation often refers to the use of light IV or oral sedation. While you do remain awake during your procedure, you are in a deep state of relaxation. It is recommended that the patient undergoing moderate sedation have someone accompany them as it can take several hours for the sedative to wear off and driving is unsafe during this time.

Deep
With deep sedation, patients go between consciousness and unconsciousness during their dental treatment. We offer IV sedation for our more nervous patients who typically have no recollection of their procedure. It is recommended that patients receiving this level of sedation have someone to accompany them to and from their appointment as it can take several hours for the sedative to wear off, and driving is unsafe.
