Malika Jhawar, DMD
Dr. Malika Jhawar’s journey into the world of dentistry began more than a decade ago. It all started during her time as an undergraduate at the University of Washington, where she first stepped foot into our office. During this formative period, Dr. Jhawar was deeply involved in sterilization procedures and actively assisted during dental surgeries. It was here that she got her first taste of what it meant to be a periodontist.
Dr. Jhawar’s commitment to pursuing a career in dentistry led her to the esteemed halls of the University of Pennsylvania. Here, she embarked on her path to excellence and achieved her doctorate in dental medicine with honors. Her dedication and exceptional performance were recognized with the prestigious American Academy of Periodontology Dental Student Award for Achievement in Periodontology.
Not one to rest on her laurels, Dr. Jhawar furthered her education by completing her certificate in periodontics and advanced intravenous sedation at Tufts University, honing her skills to become a proficient and compassionate periodontist.

Are you a sweet or sour candy person?
Sour over sweet, for sure. I generally prefer savory food and snacks – especially if they come with hot sauce.
If you could travel to any place in the world, where would you go?
I love traveling, so I’m always thinking about my next trip. Next on my list is Japan, but I would happily go anywhere I haven’t been before!
Do you like sports? If so, which ones?
I love basketball and football—I remember going to Sonics games with my dad when I was younger. Fingers crossed for Seattle to get a basketball team again! Yash, my husband, watches any and every sport there is, so I’m starting to learn about those as well!
Where is your favorite restaurant in the area?
Other than my mom’s house, I can’t say I have a favorite yet … But I recently had pupusas at La Cabaña Seattle, which were incredible. I love trying new cuisines/types of food, so please send me any recommendations you have!
