Make your next dental visit anxiety-free.

What is Sedation Dentistry?

A safe and comfortable way to relax in the dental chair.

Does the thought of visiting the dentist make you feel queasy and anxious? You’re not alone!

Dental fear and anxiety cause millions of Americans to avoid the dentist each year. Unfortunately, staying away from the dentist only makes matters worse, turning minor oral health issues into painful, expensive, and sometimes life-threatening problems.

Fortunately, sedation dentistry can help even the most fearful patients get the dental care they need. We proudly offer three forms of sedation:

  • Nitrous Oxide

  • Oral Sedation

  • IV Sedation

Don’t let your dental fear or anxiety stop you from keeping your smile healthy and strong. Make an appointment with our expert team today to see if sedation dentistry is right for you.

Our Sedation Dentistry Options

We cater to all comfort levels at our dental office in Issaquah, WA.

Nitrous oxide is our lightest sedation option for patients with mild anxiety or want to feel more relaxed during treatment. You'll inhale the nitrous oxide gas through a comfortable face mask, feeling a euphoric, full-body relaxation. You'll remain awake and aware of your surroundings. The effects quickly wear off after we stop the airflow, so you can drive yourself home.

For patients with moderate anxiety, conscious oral or IV sedation methods can offer a deeper relaxation level. You'll remain awake during the procedure but will have less awareness of your surroundings. Moderate sedation typically takes a few hours to wear off, so you'll need someone to safely drive you home.
A blue icon of a patient lying asleep to represent our deep level sedation dentistry option
For patients with severe anxiety or who need extensive, complex treatments, deep IV sedation offers the strongest form of relaxation. You'll be asleep during the procedure, with little to no memory of it afterward. Deep sedation takes several hours to wear off, so you'll need someone to drive you home safely.
